Can I borrow your hankie?
My head is spinning. Not in a good way. Not in a free-Cherry-Bombs-at-Wardo’s-during-Cubs-games-1984 kind of way. That was good. This is bad. But Wardo's - what a great bar. A classic ‘80s mall bar, they had specials during Cubs games, like free Cherry Bombs when anyone homered (that was a maraschino cherry that’d been soaking in a jar of grain alcohol). And if you remember right, the Cubs were very good that year. They’re not going to win this year, by the way. I say this because my jinx is more powerful than their curse.

Snot or pine tar? Snot or pine tar?
Where was I? Oh, yeah. I was about to fall face-first into my keyboard. And no, not in a good way. Not in an I-found-my-VHS-copy-of-MST3K’s-Gamera kind of way. We don’t even have a VCR anymore. But that show was brilliant. The first time I watched it was at a friend’s place in Panama City Beach. We watched that, drank some beers, watched Wimbledon for some reason (it was a lot of beer, but I distinctly remember calling Steffi Graf a “Hun”), and then we went to a bar. Or something. It gets blurry. But I miss Crow T. Robot every day. Every day.
Where was I? Oh, yeah. I was about to fall face-first into my keyboard. And no, not in a good way. Not in an oh-my-god-Missouri-is-ranked-in-the-top-5 kind of way. And they are, or should be when the first official polls come out. It’s terrifying. I’m not used to having anything to look forward to, sports-wise at least.
Where was I? Oh, yeah. I was about to fall face-first into my keyboard. And no, not in a good way. My head is spinning because I’m on day four of my Nyquil and/or Alka Seltzer Plus bender. I woke up Monday feeling like shit, and I’ve either felt like shit or felt heavily medicated since. My head feels inflated, my throat’s all crunchy, and you should see what I horked up in the sink yesterday. It had a gun. I can’t stand having a cold and I don’t know who gave it to me, but I’m going to find that person. Get ready, because hell’s coming to breakfast.
ADDENDUM
I started this days ago. That’s how miserable I’ve been. I’m improving, though and will now attempt to get back on bbq topic.
